Check out this Octopus pin that was an addition to the Syd Barrett Opel fanzine. The button was only available to the subscribers of the Syd Barrett 'OPEL' Fanzine. The year of this was 1984. The name 'OPEL' came from the name of an unreleased song from the Madcap Sessions.
The button has the Octopus logo from the song of the same name released 11/14/1969 on the Harvest label.

Check out Pink Floyd Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun from 1968! This footage is very clear. This is a wonderful find.

Check out this cool Pink Floyd handbill from 1970. I've already done a pretty extensive write-up about this gig when I showcased the poster awhile back.

Here's Fripp demonstrating his Frippertronics. This footage is probably 25 years old (at least). It's only from hanging around in here that I learned that Fripp is a huge devotee of Gurdjieff. All I know is that he's out there.
I saw Fripp do this shit in 1981 in a club in NYC. I was on three hits of green barrel acid. I thought the acid had to be shit because it was green barrel; so I ate three. It turned out to be really pure. You never fucking know. All that shit was made in some trailer park.
But Fripp blew my young mind.
I've always thought that Fripp must've been a Syd Barrett fan too. Fripp was a youngster in all of those Ennnnnnnglish clubs when Syd was eating whole sheets of acid, smearing his head with Bryll cream and crushed up Qualudes, detuning his guitar while he rolled ball bearings up and down the neck and don't forget to put the whole mess through an EchoRec. Let the bass and drums hang on for dear life.
I've always thought that Fripp was influenced by Syd Barrett. Fripp does something like what's above but in a 100% controlled manner. Plus, Fripp doesn't do drugs. He would never dream of smearing his head with Bryll cream and crushed up Qualudes. The guy performs wearing a suit and tie.
But Fripp is friggin' out there.
Check out the latest Syd Barrett painting by Eric Watson. Its acrylic on canvas, orange and blue, (inspired by Syd's Earls Court pad floorboards) 16" x 20" (400 x 500mm), painted in a pop art style, totally unique. Eric would like around £80 for it. Contact Eric here: email@example.com

Giuliano Navarro has created another Syd Barrett video for us to see. It’s Pink Floyd King Bee. Giuliano is playing along to the song King Bee which was a demo that the Pink Floyd recorded in 1965 while Bob Klose was still in the band. King Bee is a cover version of an old blues song by Slim Harpo/Moore which was part of the pre-Floyd repertoire at that time. It was recorded in the bands first demo sessions in 1965, but not officially released. Enjoy.

Here's a message from the young person:
I threw a quick video of one song, Syd Barrett Jugband Blues, I know it is a Pink Floyd song but he knows almost all other Syd's songs from Barrett and Madcap Laughs and Opel. In a perfect world he would make a great opening act to any of the great Pink Floyd tribute bands out there.
I need help and direction and I know this site is the place. We have put together a complete show on paper but need help to get it to the next level. We are in Florida but are willing to travel to get this going. I don't think I have ever seen a full Syd Barrett tribute beside full groups of people playing Syd's music.
We want to do an acoustic, Syd show from his "bedroom" in Cambridge. Please if anyone can help or throw us in the right direction I think this is needed after all of these years. We who love Syd's music should be able to enjoy it live and imagine what it was or could of been like. Thanks.... here is you tube video of young Syd Barrett... btw.. I have reserved a web site, youngsydbarrett.com but need help putting on line. I just bought the domin name for now... any way thanks..."
