Over Priced Syd Barrett Mick Rock Photos

Syd Barrett Mick Rock
I just found these Syd Barrett Mick Rock prints for sale on the San Francisco Art Exchange site: http://sfae.com/. Go to the site and look up: Pink Floyd to see. Sure, the photos are great but lookit the prices! Mick is obviously trying to "get his" here. Christ, I can buy a first printing 1967 Pink Floyd poster for that kind o' money. Hey Mick, how do you sleep?

Take a look at these prices and gag!

$2,000.00 16 x 20
$2,350.00 Framed 16 x 20
$2,500.00 20 x 24
$2,950.00 Framed 20 x 24
$6,000.00 30 x 40
$6,600.00 Framed 30 x 40

SIX THOSAND BUCKS FOR A PHOTOGRAPH? Mick, I think that it was YOU who took too much acid in the Sixties.

As an act of protest somebody has taken Low-Res screen shots of all the photos (72), (which the SFAE has put into the public domain,) and produced a key taken from their descriptions. It can all be downloaded as one zipped file from:

It's called art ,if you can't afford it than you're better off with a computer print or a poster.
I can't afford a Picasso ,and I don't protest for its prices.
Grow up

I have to agree with Anonymous above -

Here is the thing....

The 6,000$ print you are talking about above is 30x40". Do you know how much work it takes to make a 30x40" traditional c-print that is museum quality? How difficult it is just to keep dust spots off it? How about spending several hours color correcting? It's not like walking into the local photo department kiosk, inserting a memory card and pushing the print button...

Also, it is good to keep in mind, that Mick Rock more than likely isn't wealthy. Making your living as a photographer (especially a freelance like Rock) isn't necessarily a money making venture of the highest order.

Just some things to keep in mind.
